Scout
We cast on the street, on the subway platform, in the laundromat on Mott Street. No portfolio needed — just a face that holds a room.
A model agency in SoHo, Manhattan. Representing faces the industry called difficult.
2000

Since 2000, Silhouette has scouted, developed and represented models whose features don’t fit the brief — and rewritten the brief instead. We work from a fourth-floor loft in SoHo, with our own studio, one agent per model and a deliberately small board.
We cast on the street, on the subway platform, in the laundromat on Mott Street. No portfolio needed — just a face that holds a room.
New faces spend their first season in our studio: digitals, test shoots, walking practice and the slow work of learning their own light.
We keep the board small on purpose. Every model has one agent, a direct line and a real say in every booking we accept.

Opened in a borrowed SoHo loft with four models, one camera and a phone that rarely rang.
Our whole board walked New York Fashion Week for the first time — none of them had been signed anywhere else.
Moved into the current fourth-floor loft and built the in-house studio where every new face starts.
Season 26. Twenty-four models on the board, six new faces, and still no retouching on our digitals.
